HEAT #126 – I Fought The Law, And Punched It In The Head

I’d wanted to wait until after this match to go on break, but the timing of the HEAT book’s schedule required me to move the break up to get things finished. I’m behind where I’d like to be, but the book is done except for a few pages and will be out in time for the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, so close enough.
Paul Meyers is an attempt to draw a more lean style of physique. I’m not entirely sure how successful I was, but I did accomplish my side goal, which was to learn whether I could draw somebody wearing sparkly trunks for an entire match and not want to kill somebody. To my surprise, the answer was yes, I could draw sparkly trunks for an entire match and not want to kill somebody.
I think Johnny Law’s entrance may be the first time I’ve done a crowd reaction for anything in, like, 80 pages. Sometimes I think about doing it, then forget until I’ve already drawn the panel and don’t have room for the crowd reaction.
On Saturday: Can Johnny Law turn the momentum, or will being a big lumbering ox be a hinderance?
