I’m not fond of exposition, especially in webcomics. Which is why I try to cram as much of it into as little space as possible, like in this page. There are a few key pieces of information that I needed to establish near the beginning of the series. Kind of like how all the fantasy stories need to establish their epic prophecies and how magic works and stuff. Although in this case it’s not epic prophecies and wizards, it’s prison asteroids in the future and that being trained to be a wrestler can somehow get you out of jail. Actually, that last bit doesn’t get a whole lot of attention in the series, since the specifics of it aren’t that interesting. It’s sort of treated as an “it happens or it doesn’t, but either way the details aren’t that important” kinda thing. Wow, even the explanation of it isn’t that interesting. Good thing I didn’t bother scripting it.
This page started me thinking that Mad Doc Crockett could be a lot more interesting than I had anticipated. I talked about that quite a bit in the “Classic Wrestling Moments #1” post, though, so I won’t go into it again.
