HEAT #377 – Giving Him The Rope To Hang Himself
on February 8, 2016 at 11:06 pmOr to lose his mask. That’s LIKE hanging himself, except for all the reasons why it’s not at all like that. Y’know, either way.
The perspective in panel 1 was one of those situations where I get a really distinct image in my imagination, and then spend several hours trying to make it not look like a disaster. I remember panel 3 also giving me a lot of trouble, but but now that I look at it I can’t remember what I was doing that was causing me so much grief.
You can’t tell, because you can’t see the revision histories, but it’s taken me like 40 minutes to write this newspost because I went down an internet rabbit hole of reading about the Venture Bros in an attempt to figure out what takes them so goddamn long to produce seasons that are so short.

Wouldn’t the problem in panel 3 be the ropes? It’s seems hard to express the way they open into a six sided ring from certain pov’s.
Especially if the little piece of turnbuckle in the corner is suppose to be opposite of the one the twins are on. That would mean the rope in the forefront shouldn’t be so straight? if that’s the right way to express it.
Figuring out where the ropes go is definitely the hardest part of the six-sided ring. In this case, the turnbuckle in the bottom right isn’t the corner directly across from LGN, but the one next to it. It was so much easier when I didn’t have to keep track of how many corners were in a shot haha.
