This one is kind of a plot-mover, but I got some good perspective practice out of it, so art-wise it was pretty fun to work on. The referee’s design I kind of just worked out on the spot, which isn’t the greatest habit, but seemed to work out okay in this case. He did end up looking quite a bit like the referee from the first match, though, which was entirely unintentional. This one was supposed to be a different referee, which I guess he still could be, since now that I just looked it up we never see the first referee’s face.
I reorganized all of my old WWF tapes by date today. Because I am a huge nerd. And got sick of having to dig through my tape cabinet to try to find the next event, chronologically. Turns out I have every major WWF PPV from 1994 and 1995. Once the “In Your House” events started piling up I started buying a lot less PPVs. Earlier today I finished watching Wrestlemania VIII. The “double main event” was kind of undercut by the fact that Randy Savage and Ric Flair’s WWF Championship match halfway through the card completely outshone the overhyped snoozefest that was Hulk Hogan vs. Sid Justice. I frequently forget just how bad of a wrestler Hulk Hogan was.

You FORGOT how bad a wrestler Hogan was?
How does anyone forget that?!
I don’t think I forgot so much as chose to repress memories of him in action, aside from body slamming Andre at Wrestlemania III and the big boot/leg drop. His inability to actually work a match is so painful that I prefer not to acknowledge that he ever did anything other than body slam Andre and leg drop people.
