I must have been looking at Kenneth Rocafort pages around the time I drew this. That’s probably where I got inspiration for the shard effects on the bottom half of the page from. He’s all about those shard effects. He’s an artist who’s worth checking out if you haven’t, he’s got a really unique style and the daily sketches he posts online are incredible.

In other news, the Where Is Zog? Kickstarter campaign is nearing the final week! It’s juuuuust about funded, so check it out and maybe you can be the one who pushes it over the top!

I fucked up, you guys. I’ve spent all week working on prints for Calgary Expo (I’m a guest, by the way) and getting Hockeypocalypse Season 3 printed and totally forgot to update the comic. I apologize, and will hopefully not fuck it up again.

HEAT #270 – Bulldog… Bob Brown

Why do people keep letting me come up with strip titles? WHY? Naturally, they get even worse after the 24 Hour Comic Challenge which I did this weekend. More on that when I’m not exhausted.

The reference I used for the second panel was from Bret Hart and Owen Hart’s WrestleMania X classic, which is one of my top 5 matches of all time. So instead of me continuing to use my thinking brain, watch that:

HEAT #56 – Momentum Swing

This page is full of hard things to draw, but it turned out pretty well and was a ton of fun. The bulldog was easily the most enjoyable panel to draw (and also the one that I think turned out the best), although the headlock and the elbow drop turned out nicely as well. Speaking of things that turned out nicely, I spent the last two days working on a new piece that’s going to be part of an illustration portfolio that I’m putting together because I need to makes me some money.

I just started drawing Classic Wrestling Moments #6, which features a young Mad Doc Crockett (well, technically it’s Doc. He has a different name and gimmick in this one). It also let me work on some of Galactic Wrestling’s stage designs, which has been fun so far, and a interesting challenge since it gives me the opportunity to go far beyond the fairly simple Prison Pro Wrestling set-up.

Contest! Enter it. At this point, 2 out of 4 correct would take the lead. I also realized that one of them has two acceptable correct answers, which makes it a little easier.

On Wednesday: The momentum swings yet again… or does it? Check back on Wednesday, because I can’t remember what happens on page 57!
